Production History The Macbeth-Evans Glass Company originally focused on industrial glass, lighthouse lenses, and gas lamp chimneys in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. During the economic strain of the Great Depression, they pivoted to consumer dinnerware. They introduced Petalware in 1930, making it one of the company's very first complete dinnerware lines. Because of its immense popularity, it enjoyed the longest production run of any original Macbeth-Evans pattern, continuing well into the 1940s—even after the company was acquired by Corning Glass Works in 1937.
